How much batting???

Here's a thought.... Warning - this is a blond thought. If you don't have the constitution for it stop reading now.

Sadly, as of today it doesn't sounds as though the massive oil leak in the gulf has been stopped. Even when it finally does, there is so much oil to be cleaned up. What a horrible mess, what a terrible catastrophe. My heart goes out to everyone being directly affected with the loss of their jobs and livelihood and of course the devastation to the wildlife and the environment. Very sad indeed and a long term problem besides.
How much quilt batting do you think it would take to soak up all that oil???
If we all pooled our scraps of batting I bet there would be a bunch of it!
Don't say I didn't warn you!

Well now - I don't think that is a blonde thought. (Maybe that makes ME blonde?) At least you didn't suggest we send them our quilts! LOL How much batting do we throw away with our scraps? I wonder how useful it would be? They are using hair to mop it up. Why don't you conduct an experiment - surely your DH has some oil he could donate to the cause. I wonder if the oil soaked batting would sink - and perhaps they use hair because it floats? There are going to be people trying to rescue oil soaked wildlife - I wonder if ti could be used to clean the critters?

I will have to get my DH busy doing tests to determine the feasibility.
Did I mention he is also blond?
