crib quilt in progress

Here's what I have going under the needle of my sewing machine today.
Please forgive my absence of posts recently. No, I didn't go anywhere, but I was goofing off for a bit while my parents were here on a visit. I had good intentions of posting during their visit but, quite frankly, I was enjoying their company too much to take the time. I only get to see them twice a year so I cherish every moment and they are lots of fun besides. Since they left on Wednesday (boo-hoo, sniffle-sniffle) I did get busy and have started making a class sample for a crib quilt that I will be teaching at a local quilt shop SEW Studio.
Rita, the shop owner, has taken a small sewing shop she started years ago into a vibrant 2 location quilt shop with great fabrics, machine sales, fun classes, charity projects and more. The class I am doing is from my "Blondies" pattern and I found the most adorable ducky fabric in Rita's store for the model. It's a Kathy Hatch design called Rainy Day Ducks from Robert Kaufman Fabrics and I thought it was perfect for a Spring crib quilt. I intend to get the top finished today and start quilting it on Monday.
Note that I did say "intend". I'll see how many interruptions the day may bring, oh well, it keeps me on my toes.
